Once stable cornerstones of the Western economy, they are now navigating major disruptions driven by technological, regulatory, and market shifts. The seminar will discuss the forces reshaping their business models and how these pressures push dealers to rethink how they will continue to create and capture value. In this seminar, Zanele presents a process model of how prosocial motivation evolves as part of entrepreneurs’ identity work. Drawing on rich qualitative cases, she shows how moral purpose is not a fixed trait but a dynamic, narratively constructed practice — continually built, reaffirmed, and adapted over time.
