Communities of Practice
A community of practice is a “group of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly.” Communities might focus on scholarly goals (developing the field), practical goals (sharing ideas about practice), open-ended conversations, or specific projects.
Each community of practice consists of interested, relevant healthcare professionals, patients and family members, and established experts in service coproduction. Each community’s work will include active testing and evaluation related to its theme. Findings will be publicly documented and published. Community of practice themes will vary, but initially will likely include health professional education/development, primary care, chronic conditions with sub-foci on specific disease clusters, palliative care, research and measurement, and healthcare system leadership.
