Instant loans - Should we regulate? Is it possible?
On 5 February, the Swedish government announced that SMS lending businesses will be subject to license. But is regulation possible? Is it desirable? And how should it be modeled?
On March 15 an afternoon seminar on instant loans will be held at JIBS. The question for the conference is partly the extent to which instant loans constitute a social problem, and whether the instant loan industry should be regulated (further) and secondly, if so, how the regulation should be modeled.
Participants:
J önköping Social Services
The Swedish Enforcement Authority
Quick Loan Company Folkia
Torbjörn Ingvarsson, Uppsala University
Jacob Heidbrink, Jönköping International Business School
The seminar will be held in Swedish and takes place at. 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. in room B1033 at JIBS. Register with Cigdem Günes ( cigdem.gunes@jibs.hj.se ). The cost for participation in the seminar is SEK 100, payable in cash at registration. ATM available on campus.
