MMTC hosting the 10th annual Entrepreneurship as Practice Conference
This week, the Media, Management and Transformation Centre proudly hosts the 10th Entrepreneurship as Practice (EAP) Conference, bringing together leading international scholars to explore new frontiers in entrepreneurship research.
Held from April 9–11, the conference marks a significant milestone in the global Entrepreneurship as Practice (EAP) community. With around 60 participants from entrepreneurship schools across the world, the event provides a platform for cutting-edge discussion and collaboration in the growing field of practice-based entrepreneurship studies.
At MMTC we are focused on transformation and innovation in media, management, and business, and it is natural for us to host this event and be the driving force behind this year’s conference - underscoring our commitment to developing contextually rich, interdisciplinary entrepreneurship research.
“This is a very special moment for us at MMTC,” says Thomas Cyron, Senior Lecturer at JIBS and MMTC researcher. “Hosting the 10th edition of the EAP conference is not only an academic milestone but also aligns perfectly with our focus on entrepreneurship in context and our dedication to fostering vibrant scholarly communities.”
The theme of this year’s conference is
🔍 “Artefacts and Entrepreneuring – The Role of Other-than-Humans in Entrepreneurship Practices”—
a forward-thinking topic that reflects one of MMTC’s interest areas - How entrepreneurship interacts with context such as materials, spaces, technologies, and non-human actors.
The program includes keynote speeches from globally recognized scholars:
- Prof. Silvia Gherardi (University of Trento)
- Prof. Dimo Dimov (University of Bath)
- Prof. Henrik Berglund (Chalmers University of Technology)
Participants also engage in panel discussions, paper development sessions, and site visits to local attractions such as the Match Museum and the Husqvarna Factory Museum. These activities foster not only intellectual exchange but also community-building—core to MMTC’s mission.
As MMTC continues to lead and support international research initiatives at the intersection of media, management, and transformation, the EAP conference stands as a testament to its growing influence and collaborative spirit.
